Poolparty at Fun4Two

Sun, dancing and free vibes. Then the rain came, which only made the day more exciting.

Review

On Sunday 9 August we visited the Fun4Two Poolparty in Moordrecht for the first time. Fun4Two itself wasn’t new to us, but we’d heard such enthusiastic stories about the Poolparty specifically that we wanted to experience it ourselves. Time to find out if the hype held up. Spoiler: the stories turned out to be pretty accurate.

Anticipation

Our expectations going in

We’ve been to Fun4Two a number of times before, mostly during regular nights and special events. What we always enjoy there is that something is genuinely happening: good music, entertainment, and plenty of people in the mood to connect.

We’d been hearing enthusiastic stories about the Poolparty for a while. Especially on warm summer days it was said to have a completely different vibe from a regular club night. So when another one was scheduled in Moordrecht, we didn’t have to think twice.

Swimming pool with loungers and palm trees at Fun4Two

Here we go

Being on time is key

The Poolparty starts at 2pm, which means plenty of people are already waiting at the door around that time. By the time we arrived it was already pleasantly busy.

An important tip: arrive on time if you want your own lounger by the pool. On entry we could immediately put our bag on a lounger to claim our spot, then it was time to head in, sort a locker and grab towels. The loungers around the pool filled up fast; later on you can always squeeze in somewhere, but if you want a good home base for yourself, it pays to be there from the start.

Our first impression was good either way: nice decor, a summery vibe, and plenty of people around us from the very first moment.

In the thick of it

From pool to dance floor, then the rain came

What maybe struck us most was how approachable the vibe was. We make contact pretty easily ourselves, but of course others have to be open to that too, and during the Poolparty that basically happened on its own. We ran into a lot of familiar faces, got chatting with people we didn’t know yet, and had a particularly fun click with a cheeky lady we met there. There were plenty of people to chat with, laugh with, or dance with, nothing felt forced.

Music makes up a big part of the vibe for us, and this Sunday delivered: among others Ruben Vitalis, Cindylicious, LaNikki and Ko-C were behind the decks. The nice part is the combination: sit back on a lounger and chat, hop in the water for a bit, grab a drink, and head back toward the music. Less a traditional club night, more a summer party that just happens to have a pool.

At some point the weather turned and a large part of the crowd moved inside, but that didn’t end the party, it mainly changed the vibe. Outside it had all been about sunbathing, swimming, dancing and meeting people; once inside the atmosphere got a bit more exciting and sexier, and people explored the different rooms more. Almost like we experienced two sides of Fun4Two in a single day.

In the end it wasn’t the pool or the venue that made the day, it was the people.

The Open-Minded Meter

How free did it feel?

The vibe felt free and approachable: contact came without effort, nothing felt forced, and we were comfortable from the start. As the evening moved indoors, that freedom shifted into something more playful, without losing its relaxed foundation.

Good to know

Tips if you’re going

  • Arrive on time, especially if you want your own lounger around the pool.
  • Bring towels for outside (only available on-site for a fee, bringing your own saves you a few euros).
  • Food and drinks are included, Fun4Two works with an all-in concept.
  • Parking is free.
  • Wear something that can get wet, you can genuinely go in the pool.
  • Outfit-wise, plenty is fine: from bikini and swimwear to a sexy party fit, just pick whatever you feel comfortable in.
  • Come with an open attitude, as our code of conduct also says: you don’t have to do anything, but there’s plenty of room to meet new people.

The Morning After

Our verdict

The best moment: the combination of the pool, the music, lots of familiar faces, and the easy way you meet new people.

This surprised us: how the rain wasn’t the end of the party, but mostly changed the setting, from relaxed and sunny to more exciting and cheeky.

Who we’d recommend this to: anyone who loves sun, music, dancing, new encounters and a sexy but approachable vibe, including Pineapple Club members who like easily running into familiar and new faces alike. Nice bonus: the Poolparty runs from 2pm to 10pm, so you don’t need to stay up all night for the full experience.

Would we go back: absolutely. The combination of the pool, the music, familiar faces and the easy way you meet new people worked really well.

Maybe it was exactly that combination of relaxed outside and playful inside that made our first Poolparty at Fun4Two go so well.
