Flamigo bij Eden Breda
A last minute party, an open-minded outdoor festival in Ibiza style, and the umpteenth time we came back.
Review
Saturday 19 September it was on again: a last minute party by Flamigo at Eden Breda. Eden had long since stopped being unfamiliar to us, and we’d been to Flamigo several times too. Still, we happily went again, curious whether this edition would give the same familiar feeling as the previous times.
What we expected
We like going to festivals and parties where we already know a lot of familiar faces will turn up, and that was true for this evening as well. We really didn’t expect more than a nice get-together, so no sky-high expectations. Precisely because it was our umpteenth time at both Eden and Flamigo, we roughly knew what atmosphere awaited us: an open-minded outdoor festival in Ibiza style.
Arrival & first impression
Our first impression was good right away: the atmosphere and decor were exactly as described beforehand, no surprises there. There were around 150 visitors, parking cost €10, and for a simple snack you could just head to the food stall.
Contact, music and one small downside
In the end it’s the contact with other visitors and the music that make an evening like this. Gina was playing really nicely that day, and with the lovely weather it was just perfect. Less nice was that not everyone stuck to the dress code, which did bother us a little. Otherwise it was mostly the friendly encounters that made the evening, encounters from which an occasional more exciting connection could also arise.
You can make it as exciting as you want yourself.
How free did it feel?
Because most visitors already know Flamigo, you know of each other that there is an open-minded basis, without anything being required. That made making contact remarkably easy: a bit of chatting, flirting, and sometimes a kiss. That non-committal character is exactly what makes evenings like this so accessible, also for people who aren’t that familiar with it yet.
Good to know
Tips if you’re going
- Parking costs €10.
- For a simple snack you can just head to the food stall.
- Keep in mind that not everyone sticks strictly to the dress code.
- Wear a tame outfit and bring something more exciting, you can always change later.
- This is a very good starter party if you’re new to the scene. Come with an open attitude, as our code of conduct also says: you don’t have to do anything, there’s simply room to discover it for yourself.
Our verdict
The best moment: the combination of Gina’s set, the lovely weather and an atmosphere in which contact just happened.
Who we’d recommend this to: people who are new to the scene, a very good starter party.
Would we go back: yes, though at the next last minute party we’ll check first whether enough people we know are going. We’re definitely going to Flamigo’s White Party at Eden on 19/12, which we expect to be bigger, with more visitors, both inside and outside.
For us, Flamigo at Eden remains a familiar place to seek exactly as much or as little excitement as we want ourselves.
