Spaces

Different Spaces.
Different rules.
One platform.

Not everyone is looking for the same thing, and that's fine. Spaces are communities within the platform, each with its own audience, topic and, where relevant, additional conditions.

Why Spaces

From one closed club to a platform with Spaces.

It used to be that everyone had to be personally approved before joining The Pineapple Club. That's changing: soon you'll be able to create an account on the platform straight away. Admission and any additional conditions are now handled per Space.

Then

One closed club

Everyone had to be personally approved before joining The Pineapple Club.

→
Now

One platform, multiple Spaces

You create an account instantly. Admission and conditions are now handled per Space, The Pineapple Club is one of them.

What defines a Space

Every Space has its own rules.

Not every Space requires approval. A user can join one or several Spaces. Eight things that vary from Space to Space:

Audience
Age limit
Topic
Access model
Visibility
Approval
Verification
Communityrules

Future Spaces will follow as the community grows.

Two layers of trust

Approval and verification aren't the same thing.

Layer 1

Approval

For Spaces like The Pineapple Club, we personally assess whether someone fits the community, just as members are already used to.

Layer 2

Verification

A separate, optional layer that confirms you really are who you say you are. A Space can set this as an extra condition.

Visibility within a Space

Your profile is shielded by default.

A Space can set minimum visibility conditions. If participation requires, for example, that your profile photo is visible to all members of that Space, this is clearly stated upfront. By joining, you accept that condition. Your general privacy settings aren't changed as a result.

Where possible, you see the same kind of information back that you share yourself: if you don't share photos yourself, you won't see photos from others either. This prevents someone from looking without being willing to be seen themselves.
