A Space can set additional conditions for visibility and participation.
Personal admission
Only Spaces that need it apply personal admission. The Pineapple Club deliberately does.
Verification
Admission and verification aren't the same thing.
Alongside admission, we offer verification as an extra layer of safety. Verification confirms that someone really is who they say they are.
Admission
Personally reviewed, wherever a Space requires it. The Pineapple Club deliberately does this.
Verification
Confirms you are who you say you are, via a short selfie and liveness check. Separate from admission, and no ID document required.
Consent
Consent is clear, freely given and ongoing agreement, not a one-time "yes" at the door. You can adjust your boundary at any moment, including backward: a "yes" from an hour ago isn't automatically a "yes" now. That applies both offline at events and online on the platform. Our hosts safeguard the atmosphere at events and on the platform. They're visibly present and step in whenever someone doesn't respect another person's boundaries. Did someone cross your boundaries anyway, offline or online? You can always report it, in the app or via contact.
Both partners actively confirm this contact is wanted. That applies to every conversation, every encounter.

Verification badge & signing in
Who you say you are, without an ID document.
Selfie + liveness check
A short check on your device (for example blinking or smiling) confirms you're a live person. It never leaves your phone.
Same moderation as your photos
The selfie goes through automated image screening plus human review in case of doubt, just like your other profile photos.
No ID, no external party
No ID document needed, and no external biometric or ID-verification service.
Sign in with Apple/Google
We only receive an identity confirmation and, at your very first sign-up, your name. Linking to an existing account first requires confirmation, never automatically by email address.

What you share with us is handled as carefully as if it were our own: guarded closely, and never more accessible than it needs to be.

Personal data deserves its own layer of attention, separate from the platform security below.

Data within Europe
Our preference is to process and store data within the EEA. Our own infrastructure (Hetzner) is located in the EU. Where a party operates outside the EEA, such as Apple or Google for sign-in and push notifications, additional GDPR safeguards apply, such as standard contractual clauses.
Privacy by design
We align our approach with the principles of ISO/IEC 27701, the international framework for privacy information management. Data minimisation is the starting point: we only ask for what's needed.
Screening and moderation
Photos are automatically screened for, among other things, nudity, weapons, violence and drugs. Borderline cases go to a human moderator.
You can download your data directly and delete your account; we respond to other GDPR requests within 30 days via privacy@pineappleclub.nl.
Security
Regardless of the exact data involved, we secure the platform itself using recognised security principles.
Encrypted
- HTTPS encryption on all traffic
- Passwords stored exclusively as irreversible hashes
- Special category data (incl. Dating) encrypted further, GDPR Art. 9
Protected access
- Role-based access on every request
- 2FA mandatory for administrators, optional MFA for members
- Limit on failed login attempts
Secure infrastructure
- Test and production strictly separated
- Active sessions are visible and revocable
We work risk-based and align our security policy with the principles of ISO/IEC 27001:2022. We aren't formally certified against it yet; certification is planned for a later stage.
